Join Sheila Ewers, E-RYT500, owner and founder of Johns Creek Yoga, Yoga Teacher Trainer at both the 200 and 500 level, and leader of both local and international retreats for a weekend intensive exploring foundational principles of crafting transformative programming.
One of the most powerful ways to deepen a yoga practice is through more immersive experiences than one can gain from daily classes. Workshops and Retreats give you the ability to take your students into more subtle aspects of consciousness and self and are a fulfilling and powerful way for you to share what you love.
In this workshop, you will learn:
Principles of effective multimodal teaching to appeal to kinesthetic, audio and visual learners
Ways to connect students to a communal experience and build sangha
Effective use of dyads and triads
How to create and energetic “arc” for longer programming
The business considerations for leading a retreat
This module is required for students participating in the RYS300 hour program, but is open to all.
This module counts for 25 CEUs approved by Yoga Alliance. (23 contact, 2 non-contact)
Friday, 6-9 pm, Saturday, 8-6pm, Sunday 8-6pm: Sunday will take place offsite at a local retreat center.
This training prepares one in all the skills necessary to offer a complete and safe full body Thai massage. In three weekends you can get certified as a Thai Yoga Bodywork therapist, while learning three hours of relaxing and therapeutic Thai Massage techniques. These can then be combined in various ways to create individualized treatments for your friends, family and/or clients. You can choose to take single days, a weekend or the first two weekends to learn the full two hour 'foundational flow.' Add in the final weekend for therapeutic applications and certification*.
With a strong emphasis on proper body dynamics and how to use leverage, you will learn how to effortlessly apply pressure to sore muscles, energy lines & trigger points as well as learn how to bring your partner through a series of assisted yoga stretches to fully open and relax them.
This training has been refined for over a decade to offer all students the ability to master these skills in a short amount of time. After completing the course, all dedicated practitioners should be able to offer a profoundly healing and delightful treatment.
Each day you will learn a new thirty minute routine focusing on a specific body area in a specific position, ultimately resulting in over three hours of techniques. Courses can be taken individually or you can sign up for the full training at a discount. This is a wonderful way to complement the massage or yoga that you are currently offering and provide yourself with a new skill and income stream. You will receive a detailed guidebook with pictures and descriptions to aid in your ongoing practice. A comprehensive DVD is also available to practice at home with.
Previous massage and/or yoga studies are recommended but not required. This work is dynamic and does require some strength and dexterity. Please watch the video clip below to see if you can imagine yourself being able to perform such maneuvers. If in doubt, please contact me.

In the yoga community, we know that “advanced” can be a tricky word. There is no hierarchy in postures and no postures are essential to an enlightened lifestyle. So, what are the benefits of an advanced asana module for you?
This 13 hour workshop empowers students to build upon foundational postures for a multifaceted energetic, psychological and physical experience. Such postures simultaneously combine focus, strength, mobility, integration and perseverance. They encourage us to embrace structure and fluidity, strength and softness—and then set aside such polarities.
Learning to embody complexities on the mat may translate to our ability to live full, complex lives with a greater sense of ease and balance.
Practices including pranayama, asana and meditation; lectures; workshopping postures and sequences; discussions; and journaling exercises. (2 hours) required reading on energetic body + asana or social justice + yoga. Details below.
Friday 6-9pm Introduction and Foundational Discussion
Saturday 9-3 pm: Backbending and Arm Balances
Sunday: 9-3pm: Forward Folds and Inversions
Required reading: Yoga of the Subtle Body by Tias Little
