Yoga Nidra Teacher Training: Level I (RYT300) with Nick Atlas, PhD
Sep 14, 2019 - Sep 15, 2019

Yoga Nidra, or “dynamic sleep,” is a unique approach to deep relaxation, meditation and transformative dreamwork that can be practiced with little or no yogic experience, yet it encompasses the full breadth of yoga psychology and meditative insight. Yoga Nidra is typically administered to a group by a trained instructor, though it may also be employed in a one-on-one setting (e.g., in place of or as an adjunct to counseling, psychotherapy, energy work, etc.) and, ultimately, may become the foundation of your yoga practice and journey of self-discovery.

Level I of Evolutionary Education’s Yoga Nidra Teacher Training Certification Course is a comprehensive and nourishing, 12-hour teacher training and retreat-style experience featuring gentle movement, breathwork, and several opportunities to both receive and guide the immensely restorative, deep relaxation of Yoga Nidra. The training will also feature integrative discussion/Q&A on the philosophy and evidenced-based research supporting the practice, including how it relates to waking, dreaming (e.g., lucid dreaming) and consciousness, healing trauma, releasing anxiety, alleviating insomnia, overcoming nightmares, etc. Among our learning objectives are for you to: • Receive a succinct yet adaptable method for delivering Yoga Nidra to diverse audiences. • Explore ways to incorporate Yoga Nidra into yoga classes, schools, health care clinics,

private practice, home/family life, etc. • Examine the theoretical and philosophical foundations of Yoga Nidra, including how it

relates to counseling theory, psychology, yoga, mindfulness, Buddhism, etc., as well as

evidenced-based research, trauma-sensitive approaches and ethical concerns. • Practice how to connect with yourself and others, foster empathy and develop clear

boundaries, while instilling additional strategies for self-care, wellness and prevention. • Develop tools for deepening your own practice, finding your voice, and speaking

authentically from your heart. • Learn to relax more deeply into the present moment, let go of your fears, revitalize yourself

and tap into vast creative resources.

This program is open to all levels and no experience is needed. All participants will receive a training manual and, upon fulfillment of all course requirements, a certificate of completion for Level I. Yoga Alliance members are eligible to receive 12 hours of CE credit.

About the presenter:

Nick Atlas, PhD, E-RYT 500 is the Director of Evolutionary Education® and the author of The Light Travelers, which tells the story of his decade-long, mystical journey, a generation “waking up,” and what happens when waking and dreaming merge into one. An adjunct professor of Transpersonal Psychology at Atlantic University and pioneering lucid dream researcher, he has been practicing and teaching various forms of yoga, qigong, meditation, healing and expressive arts since 1998. An Origin Story: The Yogi, The Professor and the Monkey
Sep 27, 2019 - Sep 29, 2019

Origin stories are at the spiritual and philosophical hearts of cultures around the world. They help us relate to the magnificent universe around us (and within us) through human context and experience. Where do spiritualism (the Yogi), science (the Professor), and the primal mover (the Monkey) meet?

In this special workshop we will widen our perspective to look at yoga, science, and conscious movement to alchemize an inspirational, motivational world-view-infusion that just might lift your bright practice to a whole new level. Discover the Quantum Pelvis and liberate your inner Conscious Monkey.

Sean Tebor inspires intuitive, primal movement through an evolving adaptation of Yoga as a path for integration and conscious embodiment. His teaching is supported by years of exploration in the art and science of core-oriented movement, expression, and physio-energetic integration in a practice that invokes a personal relationship with Source.

Thai Yoga Bodywork
Nov 9, 2019 - Nov 9, 2019

This training prepares one in all the skills necessary to offer a complete and safe full body Thai massage. In three weekends you can get certified as a Thai Yoga Bodywork therapist, while learning three hours of relaxing and therapeutic Thai Massage techniques. These can then be combined in various ways to create individualized treatments for your friends, family and/or clients. You can choose to take single days, a weekend or the first two weekends to learn the full two hour 'foundational flow.' Add in the final weekend for therapeutic applications and certification*.

With a strong emphasis on proper body dynamics and how to use leverage, you will learn how to effortlessly apply pressure to sore muscles, energy lines & trigger points as well as learn how to bring your partner through a series of assisted yoga stretches to fully open and relax them.

This training has been refined for over a decade to offer all students the ability to master these skills in a short amount of time. After completing the course, all dedicated practitioners should be able to offer a profoundly healing and delightful treatment.

Each day you will learn a new thirty minute routine focusing on a specific body area in a specific position, ultimately resulting in over three hours of techniques. Courses can be taken individually or you can sign up for the full training at a discount. This is a wonderful way to complement the massage or yoga that you are currently offering and provide yourself with a new skill and income stream. You will receive a detailed guidebook with pictures and descriptions to aid in your ongoing practice. A comprehensive DVD is also available to practice at home with.

Previous massage and/or yoga studies are recommended but not required. This work is dynamic and does require some strength and dexterity. Please watch the video clip below to see if you can imagine yourself being able to perform such maneuvers. If in doubt, please contact me.

* *For certification, you will need to complete all six days and also complete 10 practice sessions, including 1 session with a LMT.
