Intro to Yoga

Explore what yoga is all about, understand the benefits and practise three different styles of yoga (Hatha, Vinyasa and Jivamukti).

 

This four-week course is for beginners only, so if you've been thinking about giving yoga a go, here’s your chance.

Mama and Baby Pilates

A four-week Pilates course for post-natal mums.

 

Bring your baby along with you to Kalimukti, to help you re-connect with the abdominal region and ease back in to exercise.

 

We provide a friendly environment where you can meet other mums and babies, change and feed as and when suits and all equipment is provided (including blankets for babies to lie on).

 

The course will help you to re-build your inner core, starting by reconnecting with the breathing and pelvic floor exercises. Gradually building the bodies strength and stability in a safe and supported way.

 

At the end of the class we will take time to release any tension held in the body with a deeply restful pose and meditation to spend some time to re fill your cup!

 

Join the course 5-6 weeks postpartum, once your health care provider has given you the all clear to start postnatal exercise.This could be slightly longer after giving birth if you have had a c-section. Please inform Ashley if you have had a c-section or have any injuries or concerns that should be taken into account.

 

Feel free to repeat the course as often as you like as the exercises will constantly be changing and adapting to suit everyone and offer you the right amount of strength and relaxation.

 

Make sure to wear comfortable clothing you can move freely in. We do have lift access, but if it is possible to bring baby in a carrier that would be great as we are slightly limited on buggy parking which is on the 2nd floor corridor before you enter Kalimukti. 

 

The course will be available to live stream so if one day you cannot make it into the studio drop us an email 60m before class to live stream the class from home, or request the recording to catch up on for 48hrs post class.

Women's Well-being Course

Help to regulate your cycle and alleviate the transition through menopause.

 

A four week course, with a different focus each week. Using different styles of gentle yoga the focus of the course is to;

 

- Stimulate the lymphatic and nervous systems

- Improve respiration and circulation

- Burn off excess anxiety and irritability

- Regulate sleep and mood swings

- Boost self confidence, empowerment & wellness

 

Every class will conclude in a healing meditation, to let imbalances settle and the mind.

 

Week 1

We will use a gentle sequence of poses designed to support and stimulate the lymphatic system, a system which is the gateway to our biological ageing and affects our weight, energy and fluid retention, soothe the mind and reduce the effects of stress.

 

Week 2

We will use pranayama (breathing techniques), restorative poses and face yoga to find a self awareness and a strong connection to the breath.

Using the breath and deeply restorative postures can instill feelings of safety and nourishment. It also opens the chest, improves respiration and circulation, and helps lift the spirits while completely supporting the body.

 

Week 3

We will focus on encouraging a yin element into our lives to calm the brain and nervous system which will help to relax the nerves. Forward bending helps to shut out external distractions and which helps to soothe the mind and reduce the effects of stress.

 

Week 4

Supported inversions can help with insomnia, they ground the body’s energy and burn off excess anxiety and irritability.

Followed by restorative yoga poses which help to regulate sleep and encourage a deep state of rest.
