Handstands are know to energize the mind, increase blood flow, and literally shift your perspective. Also, they are liberating and fun! This three-week class is designed to introduce the fundamentals of handstands for those with little or no experience going upside down. Lonnie will cover the whys and hows of standing on your hands, as well as give students the tools to continue to safely strengthen their practice on their own. Classes will be mostly asana and strength-building, with some discussion and active homework assignments.

Week 1 - Set your Foundation + Face your Fear - This week we start from the bottom with hand placement, wrist strength, and shoulder alignment. Some basic anatomy of the shoulder and back will be discussed, as well as the why of going upside down.

Week 2 - Discover Your Core - Connect to what connects you (literally!) from top to bottom. This week is all about harnessing your core strength and engagement to keep you upright while upside down.

Week 3 - Find Balance + Build Confidence - Add all your tools together and learn to find your balance . This week we give you the tools to practice your handstands fearlessly at your level: with a wall, with a friend, or in the center of the room.
