Functional Movement + Anatomy

Anatomy and physiology is almost always oversimplified for learning purposes. While you may learn anatomy as a community of individual parts, it is really an interconnected web. Even the medical community until recently regarded the connective tissue as packing material or a road map to more important things like joints. But times are changing, thankfully, and as yoga and movement teachers, it’s vital that we understand how the body moves as a whole.

In this training, we will dive into the latest cutting-edge research about connective tissue. Students will understand the deeper layers of anatomy to life in a way that’s both realistic and valuable for movement professionals. Students will participate in movement sessions that incorporate yoga and myofascial release, and help to integrate the lessons from lecture.

Who benefits from this training? Anyone with a deep interest in movement, performance, or pain. It is best suited for yoga teachers, yoga therapists, movement, manual and physical therapists, fitness instructors or coaches, as well as any instructors or healthcare providers with an interest or specialty in movement or pain.

The tools gained from this training? Students will acquire tools to support their work with clients be able provide them a practice that will give them a better overall sense of wellness, whether through pain management or regulation, stress relief or creating a better integrity in the body.
