40 Hour Trauma-Informed Yoga Certification

This Trauma Informed Yoga (TIY) Training is an immersive and interactive learning experience led by Lauren Rasmussen in collaboration with Westcoast Hot Yoga. Tailored for yoga teachers, mental health professionals, educators, social workers, and those dedicated to expanding their comprehension of yoga as a potent instrument in supporting those impacted by trauma, stress, and chronic dysregulation.

Meet Your Facilitator: Lauren Rasmussen

Lauren is a seasoned trauma-trained somatic practitioner, educator, and E-500 RYT-YACEP yoga instructor with a focus on complex trauma, nervous system regulation, and disordered eating. Holding a degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Behavioral Neuroscience, she is currently completing her second degree in Psychology and Counselling Psychotherapy. Lauren brings extensive expertise, having advanced training in the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) for Complex Trauma, Somatic Attachment Therapy, Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, and Somatic Parts Work.

Since 2014, Lauren has been sharing her passion for yoga as a multi-passionate practitioner. Her approach combines various resources to empower individuals on their paths of self-discovery and healing. Approaching her work analytically and relationally, Lauren is committed to infusing creativity, clarity, and depth into her practice.

Facilitating is one of Lauren's strengths, and she has co-led Westcoat Hot Yoga’s 200-hour yoga teacher training since 2020. By merging her background in psychology with her love for yoga, she consistently applies trauma-informed principles in both public and private classes. Lauren views trauma through the lens of the nervous system, advocating for a trauma-informed approach as the standard of care for all practitioners working with clients.

Beyond her professional identity, Lauren shares her personal mission, rooted in her own life experiences. As a survivor of CSA (Childhood Sexual Abuse), she intimately understands the challenges of disconnection. Having navigated her own journey of self-reconnection, Lauren uses her insights to guide clients from all walks of life in reclaiming their bodies and creating a life of safety. Her mentoring extends not only within her somatic practice but also to the numerous yoga trainees she has encountered over the years.

For Lauren, this work is more than a profession; it's a life's mission. Her goal is to cultivate a ripple effect of trauma-informed practitioners who approach the world with curiosity and compassion. Shifting the paradigm from what is wrong with you? to what happened to you? defines Lauren's commitment, making her life's work a passion that surpasses all else in this world.
