Our next foundational 200-hour yoga teacher training begins in January 2026! Come chat with lead teachers Amy Boerner and Alexis Besosa in this free information session.
Amy and Alexis will talk about what they wish they had known before starting their first YTT, what goes on in the classroom, and next steps after the program. You’ll also get to talk with other prospective trainees.
Prior to COVID, offering hands-on
assists in a yoga class was commonplace. In the post-COVID world of
distance and space, hands-on assists got left out of YTTs and
became less commonplace in classes. But touch can be an important
way to offer support and relaxation, communicate compassion and
acceptance, and help your students find their full potential in a
pose.
In this weekend workshop with Carrboro Yoga's 200-hour lead teacher
trainer Alexandra DeSiato, we will:
+ discuss why assists are offered
+ explore the most common shapes to assist
+ practice the hands-on assists you learn
+ look at the concerns around assists, including consent and
students misunderstanding the purpose of hands-on yoga
You'll leave the weekend ready to offer safe hands-on assists,
confident in the value they add to your yoga teaching, and ready to
level up your classes.
We meet Saturday, 9 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1–4 p.m., and again Sunday, 9
a.m.–12 p.m. (There is no Sunday afternoon session, freeing you to
travel.)
This workshop, which is part of our 300/500-hour advanced studies
yoga teacher training, is also open to teachers from any movement
modality.

Join Jennifer Lucero Earle for
this two-hour workshop, ArcanaDance – Dance to Release &
Welcome: Transitioning to a New Year with Tarot & Movement. As
we cross the threshold from one year to the next, this ArcanaDance™
workshop invites you to honor what has been and open to what is
emerging.
Through a three-card tarot reading, you’ll be guided to:
- Release something you’re ready to leave behind from 2025
- Welcome a new energy, intention, or focus for 2026
- Invite a practice, ritual, or process to support your 2026
intention
We’ll then move into a somatic exploration of these cards through
guided movement to music—allowing the body to sense, feel, and
express the archetypal wisdom they hold.
Our journey will be held by two guiding tarot archetypes:
The Hermit—the archetype of turning inward. The Hermit withdraws
from the noise of the world to listen deeply, reflect, and
reconnect with the quiet light within. As the stable hub of the
inner skillful observer, The Hermit supports us in discerning what
we’re ready to release and leave behind.
The Wheel of Fortune—the archetype of change and flow. The Wheel
reminds us that life moves in cycles, ever turning, ever
transforming. As we enter 2026, it invites us to embrace the
movement of change while staying centered in our inner hub of
wisdom and steadiness.
No tarot or dance experience is needed. There are no steps to
learn—just simple movement invitations that encourage you to follow
your body’s natural impulses and move in the way that feels right
for you.
Tarot decks will be provided, or you’re welcome to bring your
own.
Created by Jennifer Lucero-Earle, RSMT/RSME, ArcanaDance blends
tarot, music, and guided movement to reveal hidden wisdom, invite
transformation, and support healing from the inside out. A
trauma-informed somatic movement therapist, educator, and tarot
practitioner, Jennifer is dedicated to helping others re-inhabit
their bodies with compassion and curiosity. Through the integration
of movement and tarot, she invites people to engage archetypes as
allies for healing, self-understanding, and more skillful,
intuitive living.
Wear comfortable clothes for easy movement. No shoes required; a yoga mat is optional for floor-based practice.

Each class includes:

- Gentle core and pelvic floor reactivation
- Strength and mobility exercises for shoulders, hips, and spine
- Restorative poses for relaxation and release
- Community connection and space to share (if desired)
- A closing rest to replenish your energy
You’ll leave feeling more centered, supported, and empowered as you continue your postpartum healing journey.
