If you've ever dreamed of dancing en pointe, here is your chance.
This 12 week introduction to pointe work course will consist of a 30 minute class each week to either prepare you for pointe work or get you started dance en pointe.
If you are not ready for pointe work, you can do this class on demi pointe to strengthen your ankles and core. You can wear ballet flats of demi-pointe shoes. Demi-pointe shoes are recommended as they help prepare you for what it feels like to dance in a fully blocked pointe shoe.
If you wish to dance en pointe at the start of the course, ensure you visit a dance specialist physiotherapist prior to starting to ensure you are strong enough to for pointe work.
Email us at email@example.com if you'd like a contact list of physiotherapists who conduct pre-pointe assessments.
If you are not able to visit a dance specialist physiotherapist, you can start the course on demi-pointe, and be assessed by the teacher before transitioning to full pointe.
You can start the course on demi-pointe and transition to full pointe part what through if you are ready, which will be determined in consultation with your teacher.
We recommend at least a year of ballet training to join this class, and approval from your dance teacher or a dance specialist physiotherapist.
