This series is for beginners and people with experience!

We are running this series as a Hybrid Registered Series

Our hybrid model offers flexibility while keeping the benefits of a committed series. Once we have enough participants registered to run the series, drop-ins are welcome (space permitting)! Unlimited membership holders can also join as part of their membership once the series is confirmed to run.

  • Explore the cultural background and meaning behind the movements and music, enriching your appreciation of their origins.
  • Build the strength and flexibility necessary to execute the movements with precision and grace through targeted exercises.
  • Practice mindful breathwork to enhance stamina, rhythm, and fluidity, creating a seamless connection between your body and the music.

Whether you're looking to expand your dance skills, boost your fitness, or simply experience the joy of moving to global beats, Rhythms & Roots Dance Fusion offers an empowering and energizing journey. No experience needed — just bring your enthusiasm and a desire to move!

This series is designed as a progressive journey, where each class builds on the last. If you have previous experience in dance or movement, you're welcome to drop in, please reach out to do so. However, if you're new to this style, we highly recommend starting from the beginning to get the full experience and foundation.

 
About the facilitator:
Christina Di Chiara is a movement enthusiast, kinesiologist, dance and yoga instructor who has facilitated movement in various roles over the past 15 years including: Creative Director of a dance school, Entertainment Coordinator for Folklorama (Canada’s largest folk festival), Rehabilitation Specialist, and Performance Enhancement and Training. It is her passion to share the joy of movement with others and it would be her pleasure to welcome you to move with her in a safe and collaborative space.

Expect a mix of Yin-inspired poses, subtle micro-movements, and dynamic flow to stimulate fluid movement and enhance tissue elasticity.

Massage balls may be used to release fascial adhesions and improve mobility, while breathwork offers an internal massage that supports organ function and emotional release. By honoring the body's natural rhythms and cultivating awareness, this practice invites deep, lasting change in the connective tissues.
