In this workshop we will learn how to give CPR to an infant (up to 1 year of age). You will get the peace of mind of knowing that you are prepared to help your precious little one if needed. We will talk about the common reasons that an infant might need CPR, different compression techniques, how to safely give breaths, and what order you want to do things. We will spend time practicing our skills, and asking questions is encouraged.
In order to get the most out of your practice, I recommend the Infant CPR Anytime Kit from the American Heart Association. It allows you to practice both compressions and breaths. It also comes with an instructional DVD, which is great to watch before the workshop or to review later. Alternatively, you can use a baby-sized stuffed animal or soft doll to practice compressions, but you will be limited in your ability to practice breaths.
Note: This is not a certification course.
