Training Description:
Aerial Mellow Flow is Om Factory’s answer to a Restorative Aerial Yoga Practice, created by Kevin Bigger in collaboration with Maisah Hargett and their students. This class uses the aerial hammock as a tool to create sacred space in the body, mind and spirit. A slow-moving Aerial Yoga flow gently warms the body in preparation for a series of long holds in poses inspired by yin and restorative yoga. Practical applications of pranayama and meditation techniques are often woven into the sequence as well. This exploration makes use of the aerial hammock much closer to the ground than in a general Aerial Yoga class.
This 16-hour training will include:
- Sample Classes in this method taught by Kevin, Maisah and Janie
- Detailed breakdowns of over 30 Mellow Poses, all included in a 90-page, full color manual
- Discussion of multiple class sequencing strategies
- Certificate from Om Factory School of Yoga upon completion of 100% of training hours
While it would be helpful to have prior experience either teaching or taking Aerial Yoga Classes prior to enrolling in this training, it is designed to be open to any teacher who is interested in adding a new skill set to their toolbox. Interested students who want to treat themselves to two weekends of lounging in the hammocks are also welcome to join.

During this series, participants will develop a fully realized performance piece and present it at the iconic Slipper Room!
In this workshop we explore:
• Musicality
• Character
development
• Storytelling
• Stage
presence
• Audience connection
Through movement, experimentation, and play, both in the air and on the ground.
This workshop is designed to support first-time performers, experienced students, and everyone in between. As the series progresses, we will refine choreography, polish transitions, and explore costume and performance details to bring your act to life.
In this workshop, we will explore performance, musicality, story, character, and audience engagement through movement, experimentation, and play—both in the air and on the ground! The tools and techniques of this workshop are designed to help everyone from first-time performers to seasoned professionals, and anyone in between. Lastly, costumes and confidence come into play as we polish your act. Choose your favorite apparatus from silks, lyra, rope, hammock, or a duo act with a friend! About the
Instructor:
Tingting:
Tingting has always been passionate
about movement. She started an aerobic dance (you've probably never
heard of it if you're not from the cassette era) club with her
friends in college. She also did mat yoga, thinking it was a
flexibility training. Years later, when she was trying to find
herself in motherhood, she discovered aerial hoop and aerial yoga.
The rest is history. She received her 200hr Teacher Training with
Atmananda Yoga. She is also certified in Aerial Yoga and Advanced
Aerial Yoga with Om Factory, Restorative Yoga with Yoga Vida, and
Kids Yoga with Yogi Beans.
Yoga has brought her so much joy.
She feels humbled and grateful to be able to share it with her
students.
Izzy:
Izzy signed up for her first aerial
yoga class on a whim in 2019 during a personally difficult time.
Little did she know that it would be one of the answers to heal;
reconnecting her mind, body and heart. She fell in love with the
aerial arts, quit her corporate job of 9 years, and never looked
back. She loves to support people in their journey of developing
physical, emotional and mental strength, working through fear in a
safe environment. She invites her students to come as they are and
to meet their body where they're at with loving acceptance. Her
class focuses on finding a sense of play, curiosity, grace,
strength, and gratitude. She encourages her students to give her
requests, laugh, take up space, and to find their unique
expression. Her style of teaching is empathetic, kind, warm and
silly. Izzy completed OFSY's 200-Hour Teacher Training and 50-Hour
Aerial Yoga Teacher Training. You can follow her and say hi on
instagram @itsiiizzzyyy!
Description:
You’ve taken Aerial Yoga classes and you did all the basic tricks: wind up, diaper, hip keys, straddle...even the easy peasy exit. You moved on to Hammock class and tried spinning and a few flows and more tricks…maybe even the candy cane drop! What else do you need to be ready for Level 2/3?
Take this workshop and learn the foundational sequences of most Level 2/3 flows: variations of crossback straddle, belays, and leg locks. Learn conditioning exercises to begin working on your Level 3 inversions. Try layering one trick on top of another to build a sequence.
Level: Minimum Advanced Beginner to Intermediate in double or single point hammock.
Prerequisites: Must be comfortable with/proficient in the following skills: regular inversion (with the hammock on the sacrum, waist or mid back), windup(s), straddle, hip key, diaper/catcher's wrap. Must have experience flipping into or out of the hammock.
About the Instructor:
Mae: It's hard to catch Mae in the the studio because she has other full-time commitments. Between public school teaching and the demands of mom-ing, it's hard to squeeze in some air time. Saturday mornings are sacred, though. It's when, if you can wake up early enough, you'll learn some brain-teasing sequences and flows in her aerial classes. Mae teaches both beginner and advanced classes and believes the meaning of the word “YET” is powerful because through consistent practice, bodies have potential to eventually do things they currently aren't capable of doing.AERIAL YOGA TEACHER TRAINING (50 HOURS)
