**ONLINE Mindful Me: Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation; A 21 Day Challenge!

This series is designed for people who want to learn to practice Mindfulness and Meditation. Mindfulness teaches skills that help us observe thoughts in a new and detached way - promoting enhanced attention. With these skills in place, we can more easily begin to practice the art of Meditation. The purpose of this series is two fold: 1. to learn Mindfulness and Meditation and 2. to integrate both into daily life by practicing for 21 days.

In our series, we will meet via Zoom twice weekly for 3-weeks to discuss and practice. Outside of class, students are encouraged to continue daily mindfulness and meditation and record it in a Practice Journal. No prior experience is necessary - this is designed for the beginner. It takes 21 days to form a new habit - is meditation yours?!

Each session will build on the last, incorporating Mindfulness and meditation techniques into each session.

This series is designed for people who want to learn and practice meditation and mindfulness. It is best suited students looking for a workshop that includes some self-guided commitments.

1/10 & 1/13 Week 1: Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation, Awareness, and Nonjudgement

1/17 & 1/20 Week 2: The Wandering Mind: Intro to Observation and Nonreactivity

1/24 & 1/27 Week 3: Breath and Meditation

6 45-minute sessions

Sundays from 12:30p-1:15p on 1/10, 1/17, & 1/24

Wednesdays from 8a-8:45a on 1/13, 1/20, 1/27

Take home materials will be offered at each session to assist you in progressing your at home practice.

This series will be offered on Zoom ONLY. Students will have access to ALL sessions as they happen until the end of the series.

Required Props: Students will need: pillow or bolster for prolonged sitting, blank journal, water bottle, open attitude!

**ONLINE Level 2 Harmonium & Mantra Immersion Series

Come join this online sangha of like-hearted chanters and mantra music makers!

Building on the foundations of our Intro class and Level 1 Series, this intermediate program will include exercises to improve your harmonium technique and deepen your understanding and application of basic music theory. We will continue to explore Kirtan chants as well as melodies for longer mantras from the Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, and the Rig Vedas.

New to this series will be an outside reading component to deepen our connection to the stories and manifestations of the Hindu deities. We will read excerpts from Shakti Mantras: Tapping into the Great Goddess Energy Within by Thomas Ashley Farrand each week outside of class and have the option to participate in a group discussion (think Bhakti book club!) to reflect and expand upon our understanding of the mantras we work with each week.

A digital PDF of the readings will be sent out a week in advance, or you can buy the book online from many bookstores.

Weekly links to our private YouTube content will give you supplemental support to help master the songs we practice in class. Each week, Amah will provide a weekly digital packet that includes song sheets and other resources.

The Power of Breath : An Online Pranayama & Beyond Series with Anna Dixon

Start your morning, week and year off right with a life-changing breath practice and knowledge to amplify it! Breathing is the golden key to our nervous system and sense of calm and vitality, and it is one of the main components of yoga that is rarely explored with the depth that honors its importance. It is estimated that a third of us don’t breathe well enough for normal health, and very few of us exercise our breath in a way that actually optimizes health. This series will teach you breathing basics as well as breath exercises and pranayama techniques to energize your day, boost wellness, improve your yoga practice and navigate stress. Each class will involve 20-30 minutes of coached breath work followed by an explanation of techniques and reasons behind the exercises from both a scientific and Ayurvedic perspective. Participants will leave this workshop with a solid pranayama home practice and practical tools that can be utilized anywhere to access presence, increase awareness and support bliss. Come prepared for a complete reboot!

Required materials: A comfortable seat and area you can lie down

 

This series is for Anyone wanting to awaken a deeper sense of life-force and prana through breath and pranayama, in practice and theory.

No experience required.

Monday’s February 1st, 8th, and 15th from 8:30-9:30 am

Class 1 Breathing Basics - We will start with a 20-30 minute guided breath and pranayama practice and then discuss the anatomy of breathing, prana from an Shaka Vansiya Ayurvedic perspective and the three most important components of breathing well which form the foundation for more advanced breath work.

Class 2 Going Deeper - We will start with a 20-30 minute guided breath and pranayama practice and then discuss some of the more intermediate and advanced pranayama techniques from the ayurvedic and scientific perspective.

Class 3 Integrate and Empower - We will start with a 20-30 minute guided breath and pranayama practice and then discuss how to create your own home pranayama practice and tools that can be used anywhere to improve your state and navigate stress.
