
During this half day workshop, our clients will get the opportunity to participate in the following classes:
Art Therapy (Creative Detox for the Active Mind)
Here, we gently introduce the concept of processing trauma through the body through a few creative exercises where we interpret and express our emotions and thoughts through art. Our instructor will guide you through a few gentle prompts, allowing you to ground and explore what is in your body and mind. This helps our clients discover their inner strength leaving them feeling empowered and restored.
A piece of paper and a pencil is all you need for this class, but feel free to bring your favorite art supplies.
Nervous System Rehabilitation for Trauma and/or Chronic Pain
When we experience a traumatic event, from an assault to a car accident, our body keeps the score. This can cause chronic pain or create mobility restrictions.
During this class, our Structural Integrator will use very slow and deliberate movements that will allow your nervous system to recreate lost pathways, helping re-educate the body as we move into a more pain free space. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes, and have access to a place to sit.
Our objective is for you to leave class feeling lighter, be in less pain, and have more range of motion.
Yoga w/ Integrative Rest (iRest)
After experiencing a traumatic event, the nervous system can enter a heightened state. Using the breath as our guide, we will be inviting rest into our body so that healing can occur. This gentle practice is for all levels. It can be practiced on a mat on the floor, or modified while sitting in a chair.
If there is a movement that you cannot do, you can still achieve the same benefit by visualizing yourself doing the movement.
