Pilates - Mixed Ability (MILL ROAD)

This course welcomes those who have a previous experience of practising Pilates, and also less experienced beginners wishing to join a group class. There will be progressions for the more advanced students and modifications for beginners or those who haven’t done it for a while.
 
Participants will gain an understanding of the aims and benefits through regular practice. Props are often used to add variety, but we also focus on using our own body weight and control.

Focus and control are important factors and not instantly mastered. Perseverance and regularity are key to improvement. Some exercises will challenge you more than others and this will vary from person to person depending on their level of fitness or any physical issues they may have.

Mel believes that Pilates is for everyone, and there is something to benefit all in these classes, with or without modifications. The beauty of Pilates is that you can work to your ability. It will highlight the parts of the body that need it most. You will feel yourself getting stronger, your posture will improve as will your mental health. Those who do it regularly will testify to that. If you practice yoga, strength through Pilates will help you to hold the poses for longer. The two complement each other.
