This is a 6 weeks course to discover the full spectrum of a Yoga practice, awakening your breath to guide you on your journey of revealing the true purpose of Yoga. This course will offer you the space and knowledge to develop a state of receptivity to deep teachings and practices so that you gain more clarity in your yoga practice, but also in life.
Over the course of 6 weeks, participants will learn about the wisdom that guides the Yogic process of Self discovery. For the first two weeks the emphasis will be on Yoga asana (the physical practices and postures), to connect awareness to the body and the breath. The following two weeks will be dedicated to discovering the subtle effects of conscious breathing through Pranayama techniques. For the last two weeks of the course the emphasis will be on meditation and meditation techniques, creating a well rounded practice. In each session Gabriela will share the philosophical principals that sit behind the practices which will be taught in the course, as well as guiding the participants through first-hand experience of these practices. Starting from the knowledge that “Yoga is mastery over the mind” (Yogascittavrittinirodah) which we learn through the Yoga Sutras of Sage Patanjali, this course will take you through the experience of the essence of Yoga. The course is open to practitioners, new or devoted, who are curious to learn about the “why’s” and “how’s” of yoga as an ancient wisdom practice by integrating the knowledge into a full rounded experience.
