
Yoga nidra, a Sanskrit term meaning “yogic sleep” is a state of deep relaxation through a guided meditation.
Also called “psychic sleep,” yoga nidra is a state of being where the practioner slides into their alpha-theta brain waves, known as the hypnogogic state, a state between sleeping and waking. The body is completely relaxed and the practitioner turns their awareness inward. Yoga nidra practice results in deep relaxation and expands the individual's self-awareness. Similar healing results equivalent to four hours of sleep.
