Join us for a fun Family Flow Yoga class to breathe, move, and connect with the kids (ages 4+) in your life in a non-competitve safe space! Together in community we'll explore breathwork, physical postures and flow, partner poses, and relaxation techniques that adults and kids can share. Class is structured to provide a complete yoga practice for both kids and adults, while empowering kids to explore and expand the possibilities of what they can do. We'll build resilience and connection--to self, to family, and to community, and learn tools to carry out of the studio into real life.

Restore and unwind with this 75 minute gentle vinyasa class. Yuletide Yoga will feature a live harp and vocal duo performing festive music to accompany the restorative yoga practice. Join us for this peaceful evening of yoga and music!
In the midst of the holidays enjoy a 2 hour practice complete with yoga asana & meditation to assist you in grounding & slowing down.
The first hour we will be practicing yin yoga which is a non-heated style of yoga done entirely seated. You will experience longer holds in poses such as fish, half pigeon & forward folds, for example. We will use plenty of props to support us to allow for further release. If power yoga (yang yoga) is playing with your edge, this is the opposite. Our aim is to “un-do” and unwind. In addition, hroughout class Carleena will be providing mindful meditation tools. A yin yoga practice is suitable for any person with any experience of yoga, including those with injuries.
In the second hour of class, we will enjoy a Yoga Nidra guided meditation. Your only task is to lie down, get comfy, and listen to Carleena's journey. Yoga Nidra is proven to reduce stress & the symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as provide relief for chronic pain. It is one of the most approachable (and enjoyable!) styles of meditation to modern yogis.
It is suggested to dress cozy, no yoga clothes required, socks are optional. Pre-registration is requested.
This two hour workshop will provide each student an outline for how to develop a clear personal vision for your future, set goals for 2020 and beyond that set your Soul on Fire. This is not a yoga asana workshop, it is highly recommended that you practice or exercise that morning to sweep away dead energy. Take the Upgrade is the reference used when we intentionally move into a vision we create and allow the past to not control the future. Take the Upgrade also is the reference to recognizing relationships (personal, financial, emotional) that keep us stuck and intentionally choosing a new way.

Enjoy a fun & vibrant 4 week series into SHINE Teens Yoga. These classes are specially crafted with teens in mind. It is a fun flow with music played throughout.

Your Leader: Carleena Lara is a certified asana and meditation teacher at SHINE and will be leading this year's 40 Days to Personal Revolution Program. She will incorporate yogic philosophy, artistic expression & her love for the process of inquiry into this program.
The Dates: Weekly meetings will be Sundays 3pm to 5pm starting January 5th, 2020. Our last session will be a Celebration Practice & potluck. This will be Friday February 14th on our 40th day. We will enjoy a special celebration practice, community potluck and ceremony. Weekly meetings will be held in our Maple Shade studio.

Week One Theme: Sleep, Restoration & Rejuvenation. Topics discussed will include how to promote restful sleep through meditation, how to restore when sleep is not easily accesible and how to rejuvenate your body to optimum health.
Week One Meditation: Yoga Nidra - an auditory guided meditation done in savasana. 20 minutes of Yoga Nidra equates to 2-3 hours of REM sleep. This practice is deeply healing, restorative & your only 'job' is to set an intention, lie back & listen to the journey!
Week Two Theme: The Chakras! Learn more about the energetic/electro-magnetic body and how you can utilize breathwork, chanting & visualization for powerful results.
Week Two Meditation: Vibrant Chakra Meditation
Week Three Theme: Vitality! Our discussion will touch on ways to add vitality, fire, motivation, creativity & drive into your life through meditation.
Week Three Meditation: Kundalini Meditation - a dynamic, movement based meditation that will open your senses to their full capacity, get your blood pumping & make you feel ALIVE!

SHINE Leaders (and handstand enthusiasts) Mairead Sauter and Susan Nelson are offering a four-week series to help you build strength and confidence in your arm balance and inversion practice. During the program, you will learn about the anatomy of arm balances and handstands and develop strength and flexibility in places where you'd least expect it - such as in your forearms and fingertips.
We will cover a progression of arm balances such as Bakasana (Crow), Side Crow, Tittibhasana (Firefly), Eka Pada Koundinyasana I and II, and Astavakrasana (Eight-angle pose) AND inversions such as headstand, tripod headstand, handstand, and forearm stand. Our goal is to create an experience of freedom and flight, and to create a space for you to safely and confidently stand on your hands.
Program Cost = $70 / person for the entire 4-week program or $25 / person for a drop in (if space available)
