Come take a journey through the Koshas. This workshop will afford the Student an
opportunity to experience how sensory input through the Mind creates an opportunity to
heal. The Koshas are known as the ‘sheaths’ or ‘layers’ of the Body, Mind, Spirit.
There are five of them. They are annamayakosha = the physical body;
pranamayakosha = the energy body; manomayakosha = the emotional body;
vijnyanamayakosha = the wisdom body; and anandamayakosha = the bliss body.
Within each of these layers lie the Human Experience.
The Koshas offer us this opportunity to compartmentalize areas of blockage for us to
prosper and grow. You will be expertly taught by a Certified Yoga Therapist on how to
experience each Kosha through vibrational sound and guided imagery. A Body Map is
a life-sized sheet of paper that is put on top of your yoga mat. You will then draw an
outline of your body on it. As you are guided through imagery for each Kosha, beautiful
images and experiences may come up. You will then be offered an opportunity to
‘draw’ what comes up onto your Body Map. This ‘map’ will open your eyes to areas that
need special attention to break through what truly no longer serves you. In order to
create a ‘richer’ experience, as our gift to you, each student will get to explore the
Koshas on a deeper level by taking home your Body Map to continue journaling on.
This workshop is taught in the style of Integrative Yoga Therapy and is for anyone
looking to dive a bit deeper.
This is a passive, gentle yoga class whereby the student
will find stillness through the imagery. It is not an active asana class. Laying in
Shavasana is all that is required; however, if you choose, other passive poses and
mudras for each Kosha will be introduced and offered in place of Shavasana so that
each student can experience the practice on a deeper and more connected level.
Past students have shared experiences of profound growth by attending. Come with an
Open Mind and Leave with an Open Spirit and Experience a deep Sense of Well-Being.
Please bring a mat and any other props that will make you comfortable on the floor.
Studio props are available with cleaning protocols put in place. If you have any colored
crayons or markers, please bring them to use. We will have some to share. Suitable
Felicia Schmid, 500 E-RYT, C-IAYT, CAP is an Experienced Certified and Registered
Yoga Teacher at the Advanced Level and a Continuing Education Provider. She is a
Certified Integrative Yoga Therapist and recognized through the International
Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and a Certified Ayurveda Practitioner and Health
Educator and recognized through the National Ayurveda Medical Association (NAMA).
She became a committed student of Yoga in 1998 and an Instructor in 2002.
Jenny Bergold (Jagatjeet Kaur) started practicing yoga in 1999 and teaching in 2009. Jenny discovered yoga to calm the body and strengthen the mind. Jenny has her 200 Hour Hatha certification from Heaven Meets Earth Yoga in Evanston, IL and her 200 Hour Kundalini certification from Spirit Rising Yoga in Chicago, IL. Jenny is also certified in Prenatal, Restorative, Yin, and Radiant Child Yoga. Jenny's classes focus on the mind and meditation, healing the body through asana, and uplifting the spirit through inspiration.
