Gentle Yoga, mindfulness, and live music at Source Yoga
Saturday, March 29th, 4-6pm; $45
Would spring come again even for me?
And if it did would it find me brave enough
to risk a new seed in the trickster soil?
- James A. Pearson
Here in the Pacific Northwest, the dark and damp of winter can feel endless. We might feel like we will never see the longer days and feel the uplift of warmer times again. But nature keeps turning its endless circle, and as the springing earth is awash in newness, we can mirror this cycling and practice cultivating new seeds within ourselves.
Through gentle yoga and mindfulness practice led by Erin Joosse and supported by the enlivening music of Nick Rogers (Big Sky Yogi), we will shake off the stagnancy of the winter months, generate flow and set intentions as seeds we wish to grow this year. Practices accessible. All are welcome.
A New Spring
By James A. Pearson
Today for the first time
in months, the sun was strong enough
for me to sit outside in the afternoon,
sipping a cold drink, my body remembering
a season when the world wanted me
to be alive, to grow. But that was before
all the dying I've done-whole futures fallen,
promises left hanging like fishhooks.
Would spring come again even for me?
And if it did would it find me brave enough
to risk a new seed in the trickster soil?
Who knows what shapes this life might take!
But this I do know: the only regret
is not loving the world
in all the painfully honest ways
that only you can love it.
