This session will be run as a free “give back” session at Lake86. Swimmers must be able to swim at least 200m front crawl and be aged 18 or over. Our coaching for this session is free of charge but if you are NOT a member of lake86 you MUST book and pay for a sesison at the lake via their website, see https://www.cotswoldwaterparkhire.com . PLEASE CHECK THESE COSTS BEFORE BOOKING A PLACE! Members of lake86 do not need to book a lake session.
This short session will allow the swimmer to gain an
understanding of key front crawl development points, including leg
kick, body position, arm recovery, breath timing and initial catch
position.
This is a session designed for a swimmer who can swim abasic front
crawl but would like to take away knowledge to make their stroke
more effective, ready to build on more advanced development at a
later date.
This session will be held at Lake86
IF YOU ARE NOT
A MEMBER OF LAKE86 YOU MUST BOOK A
SWIM SPOT WITH THEM AND PAY FOR THIS SPOT ONLINE. THIS IS A FREE
COACHING SESSION BUT THE SWIMMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN LAKE
ENTRY AND THE COST OF THIS. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND BEFORE BOOKING
A SPACE.
Members of the lake do not need to book or pay anything
further.
You must be aged Age 18 or over to take this session
Welcome to the first South West Swim Big
Training Social Training Session. Sign up now so we know you are
coming along (and that it is worth us
organising).
This session is
for our adult squad, workshop and 1-to-1 swimmers to take part in
and will be held at Lake86 on Saturday 29th June, starting with a
mass start at 9am.
It is important to note that this is
NOT a hands on
coaching session and is planned as a meet up of all our swimmers to
train in the lake at the same time. Some may be doing short events,
some longer events and even channel swims and length of swims.
Normal Lake86 rules and T&C’s of swimming will apply to all
taking part, non members of Lake86 will need to pay for swim entry
(£7 directly to Jason, or joining the lake as a PAYG swimmer or
full member via the lake 86 website. If joining as a full member
remember your squad perks discount).
We
will start the day in the water at 9am with a mass, but friendly,
start and then simply swim how far you wish, or for how long you
wish. Practice your feeding, meet new people, swim with new groups
and be encouraged to push yourself in the training session, maybe
going a little longer or a little faster.
We
will also take the opportunity to do our bit for the community and
raise some funds for Wiltshire Air Ambulance, as swimmers we never
know when we or one of our team mates may rely on this service so
it seems fitting to try and help them benefit from our little
event. So we ask if you can spare £5 / £10 or whatever you can on
the day as a donation, this is totally optional of course and is
separate from the lake entry fee.
Whether you are
going to swim 1 lap or swim for 6 hours we would love for you to
join us, I may even get in myself for a little
swim...............
Afterwards we will create a social chill out
aspect and maybe some food or a BBQ facility of some sort. SUP
Hire, Raft Hire and Kayak Hire will also be available from the
lake.
I
truly hope you can join us and make a day of it.
