*Challenge by
Choice:
One of the most popular concepts of all OATC and Fit By Nature
training is the philosophy of ‘Challenge by Choice’. Safety,
environmental, physical, and emotional, are central to our coaching
and instruction. We honor your inner wisdom to choose the type and
level of activities you feel are right for you. We will always
encourage, never push, and we seek to ‘educate rather than
motivate’ as we support you in your practice.
FAQs
What is this retreat all about?
Our retreat is fundamentally about introducing you to and educating you on the latest tools and techniques in the practices of yoga, physiology, mental health and recovery (including sleep). We will offer three yoga classes a day, including different styles and with specific individual instruction, all designed to help you deepen and expand your yoga practice.
In addition to yoga, each day will include informative and interactive discussions designed to provide you with a roadmap to transform your physical and mental health. Wherever you are in your yoga, meditation, or wellness journey - whether you’re just starting out, or have your own well-established practices - this retreat will introduce you to concepts that will take you to the next level.
What ages and ability levels is this retreat for?
Our retreat is designed for all ages, 18 to 100+.
You might be a yoga first-timer or a current yoga instructor. You might be new to hiking or a professional mountain guide. You may or may not even consider yourself an athlete.
Whether you are recovering from an injury, looking to let go of stress, or seeking to kickoff a personal weight-loss and fitness plan, this retreat is for you. Thanks to the intimate group size and the experience and quality of our instructors, all aspects of our retreat will be customized to your skills and objectives.
My partner doesn’t do yoga, can they come along and not participate in that part of the program?
We definitely welcome partners. Our house has 6 king bedrooms with ensuite baths. If your partner wishes to join but will not participate in yoga and other activities, they will pay a reduced rate.
What are the meals like?
The nutrition plan for the week is designed for health
and performance. Many of our yoga participants and athletes are
training to build fitness and some are keen to reduce body mass
while boosting muscle tone and strength; many are doing both.
To support these goals, we serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner as
well as drinks and snacks. In terms of macronutrient value, each
day’s food will amount to 2000 calories. For increased strength
gains and/or weight management, the meals will also include 120
grams of protein. Vegetarian and vegan options as well as
adjustments for food sensitivies (such as gluten) are available
upon request. We will take care to prepare vegitarian, vegan and
gluten free meals separate from any meat dishes.
All of our fresh food items are locally sourced.
