Join Jeffrey C Sorensen and the breathARMY community for an evening of breathwork, movement and sound.
The intention of this gathering will be to release that which prevents us for seeing life as it truly is. It will provide an opportunity to release our distortions and habitual ways of responding to life's events.
Breathwork will be the main modality of the evening, accompanied by meditation, mantra, dance, sound healing and more

Wim Hof, Patrick McKeown, Brian Mackenzie, David Shannahoff Khalsa and Jhenneviev Heartt are a few of the influences that have led to the creation of breathARMY, a unique offering of breathwork, meditation, movement and exposure to natural stressors that help us to regain our own true nature. Jeff also works as a paramedic for the British Columbia Ambulance Service and resides in Victoria, BC.

Wim Hof Fundamentals Workshop

Join Jeffrey C Sorensen and the breathARMY community as we dive into the fundamentals of the Wim Hof Method!!!
Known as The Iceman, Wim Hof got his name by breaking a number of world records, including climbing to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro and into the Death Zone of Mount Everest in his shorts and sandals, running a half marathon above the Arctic Circle in his bare feet, a full marathon in the Namib Desert with no water and standing in a container while covered with ice cubes for more than 112 minutes.
His scientifically proven methods have been known to reduce stress and inflammation, increase energy, improve sports performance and speed up recovery, facilitate better sleep, increase focus and mental clarity, strengthen the immune system, and much more.
In this workshop you will learn the 3 pillars of the Wim Hof method: breathing, cold exposure & commitment. Jeff will help you understand the science and physiology of utilizing these three pillars to optimize both body & mind.
The event will begin with a discussion of the history and science of the method and will be followed by a guided breathing session offering you the opportunity to go deep into your physiology.
Following the breathing session, we will discuss the science of the breathing method and of cold exposure, we will prepare the ice baths together and discuss the pillar of mindset.
Movement will prepare us for the ice bath. The ice bath is optional and will be closely guided by Jeff. Following the ice bath we will warm up with more movement and discuss how to implement the method into your life.

Please bring a towel, a yoga mat, a blanket or two, warm, comfortable clothes, a toque, a swim suit to change into, water bottle, flip flops, notepad.
This is a full sensory experience so please refrain from wearing any perfumes/colognes, essential oils, or scented skin care products.
Wim Hof himself will not be present at this workshop.
If you have no prior experience with cold exposure, we recommend you finish your showers cold in the days leading up to the workshop to help gain familiarity with the cold.
Out of precaution, we do not allow participation during pregnancy, or if you are epileptic. People with cardiovascular issues, or any other serious health conditions should always consult a medical professional before starting the Wim Hof Method.

Reset Your Nervous System

Join Sheri and Kat for this 2 part series to learn techniques and yogic philosophies to help you manage the day to day stress and calm your nervous system so that you can function at an optimal state every day. Our goal is for you to leave this workshop feeling balanced, calm and with new tools under your belt to take home with you.

Sheri will guide you through a series of poses using 3 sizes of Tune Up Fitness balls that directly impact the muscular and connective tissue systems. An effective method of conscious relaxation is accessed through compressing and straining these systems with the therapeutic balls which directly affects the nervous system helping to elicit a deep relaxation response. With specific placement of the Tune Up Balls and diaphragmatic breath techniques we are able to lull the nervous system into parasympathetic dominance from sympathetic drive hence moving our being into profound relaxation.

Kat will bring in the ancient yogic philosophies of the Yamas and Niyamas. Yoga is so much more than a physical practice, it is a way of living and we can think of the Yamas and Niyamas as guidelines, ethical disciplines and observances to help us live the most fulfilled and balanced life. Unlike many other guides to ethical conduct they are not meant to limit us from living life, but rather open life up to us. Joy is our birthright and we can cultivate more of it into our day to day.

The sanskrit word Yamas directly translates into the word “restraints” and includes non-violence, truthfulness, non stealing, non excess and non possessiveness. The direct translation of Niyamas is “observances” and includes purity, contentment, self-discipline, self-study and surrender.

By mastering the practices of the Yamas we will notice time freeing up and suddenly feeling as if we have more room to breathe. The day to day starts to feel lighter and easier, everything becomes more enjoyable and our relationships with ourselves and others feel more harmonic. As we dive deeper into the practices of the Niyamas we are able to move into a subtle realm, a place that feels like home, a place where we can not be disturbed and we feel at peace with ourselves and the world around us.


During the workshop we will explore the above mentioned practices via intention setting, physical practice with Tune Up Fitness balls, meditation, and customised Yoga Nidra. The fusion of yogic philosophy and addressing accumulated life stress in our physical being has the potential for acknowledging emotions that are locked in our tissues. When we allow the emotions of our life experience a pathway out of our body we directly affect the state of our whole being by gently shifting into the true meaning of peace.
