Students will complete the Level 2, Program 2 course within one year after completing this pre-training course.

A native of Northern California, Tamara’s early education was in
Art. Her influences include nature and visual, healing, dance &
performance arts.
In 1988, while studying healing and movement in San Francisco, she
began working as a chiropractic assistant to dance medicine

Area’s premier GYROTONIC®
center. Tamara became a student of GYROTONIC®
Expansion System innovator Juliu Horvath in 1990, who later
promoted her to Master Trainer in 2000.

In this course, Gyrotonic Trainers learn to apply Gyrotonic movement principles to exercises on the Jumping Stretching Board. The Jumping Stretching Board is accessible to people of all levels of strength and flexibility due to the broad range of exercise sequences and modifications. The versatility of this equipment makes it popular with many clients and is usually the first piece of specialized equipment added to a GYROTONIC® Studio.
Jumping Stretching Board exercise sequences are composed of full-body, functional exercises, performed in a variety of body positions- kneeling, standing, lying, and sitting. A diverse range of standing exercises improves flexibility, coordination, and functional strength.

In this 4-day course, Gyrotonic Trainers learn the Gyrotonic Level 2, Program 2 exercise sequences. This course builds on the Gyrotonic, Level 1 exercise curriculum by introducing exercise sequences that are more demanding in regards to strength, flexibility, and coordination. Exercise sequences include: an advanced handle unit series with emphasis on flexibility, and strength, an advanced hamstring series with an emphasis on flexibility, and strength, two advanced, standing, upper body sequences, an advanced floor work series, and an advanced abdominal series with an emphasis on flexibility and strength.
This course counts as a Gyrotonic Level 1 Update.

About Anjali:
Anjali Austin is a Specialized Master Trainer with over 30 years of experience in the system. Ms. Austin is a Professor in the School of Dance at Florida State University, holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College, serves as President of CORPS de Ballet International, conducts lectures on the history and legacy of Black classical ballet dancers, and has recently been honored with a Center for Ballet and the Arts Fellowship.
