Grappling, Sword, Archery & Knife

Dates: June 8–12

Ages: 5–13

Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Cost: $300 per camper

Program Overview

The Jiu Jitsu & Blade Camp is a full-day summer camp designed for both current Harvest students and families new to our programs. No prior martial arts or Jiu Jitsu experience is required. All activities are taught in a safe, age-appropriate, and supportive environment by experienced Harvest instructors.

This camp blends the popularity and effectiveness of kids Jiu Jitsu with the discipline and tradition of blade-based martial training, giving students a unique opportunity to develop confidence, focus, coordination, and responsibility.

The goal of this camp is not just to teach skills, but to help children grow in awareness, self-control, and respect—on and off the mat.

What Students Will Learn

Throughout the week, campers will rotate through structured training blocks that include:

Jiu Jitsu Training

  • Fundamental movement and balance

  • Positional control and body awareness

  • Safe, supervised grappling games

  • Confidence-building drills designed for youth

  • Emphasis on control, cooperation, and respect

Jiu Jitsu instruction is adapted to each child’s age and experience level, making it ideal for both beginners and returning students.

Sword Training

  • Introduction to a new sword form

  • Proper posture, footwork, and grip

  • Movement and coordination drills

  • Age-appropriate, controlled sword sparring exercises

  • Emphasis on safety, etiquette, and discipline

Sword training is taught using training tools only and focuses on control, awareness, and tradition.

Blade Education & Knife Safety

  • Clear instruction on knife safety and responsibility

  • Understanding distance, angles, and awareness

  • Review of popular knife defense concepts

  • Strong distinction between training tools and real-world objects

As part of this section, campers will be introduced to kid-friendly knife throwing as a focus and accuracy exercise. This activity uses safe targets, strict rules, and close supervision and is taught as a discipline-building skill—not a weapon activity.

Archery

  • Introduction to traditional archery fundamentals

  • Focus on posture, breathing, and concentration

  • Development of patience and calm attention

  • Reinforcement of safe range behavior

Archery serves as both a physical and mental training tool during the week.
