Sattva Yoga for Recovery
Mar 23, 2019 - Mar 24, 2019

Are you seeking greater insight into your recovery? Additional techniques to add to your 12-step toolbox? This donation-based class is open to ALL people in recovery.

This is a one-hour yoga journey COMBINED with a one-hour class that includes mantra (sound vibration), pranayams (breath work), a 12 step writing session, and a meditation to end. Sattva Yoga works on bio-memory through cellular and energetic pathways in order to harness the most from the brain-body apparatus and its technology (muscles, organs, nervous system...). Much of our thought-life comes from conditioning and these thoughts and tendencies can control our lives. The person in recovery has usually spent a significant amount of time living out of balance. Sattva Yoga focuses on neuroplasticity and the brain-body's ability to heal itself and to change our conditioning and our ways of being. You will gain access to deep insights, go beyond the mind and integrate the revelations in all aspects of your life – relationships at home and work, studying, changing habits, etc. These yoga techniques support the person in recovery completely and give the individual the power to be at ease, to live at ease, and to experience their Higher Power.

*** Please note: The minimum suggested donation is $10 per session. You can pay what you can by showing up and registering then.

Sattva yoga is an integrated yoga practice from the lower Himalayas in India. The practice combines hatha asanas with kundalini yoga in the tantric tradition to address each layer of the whole body from the subtle energy levels and bio-memory to body's muscles and organs. Sattva yoga does not rely on levels to categorize people or classes - come as you are, hear from your mind-body intelligence and experience unity in practicing together.
