This course is for newcomers to Cuban salsa, whether you have previous salsa experience or not. You will learn the basic steps and moves that typify this classic salsa style and incorporate them into turn patterns in partner dance and Rueda.

For anyone who has completed a beginner course or has previous Cuban experience, in this course you will learn more new moves to add to your Cuban repertoire as well as new Rueda concepts.

Salsa is one of the most popular partner dances in the world, its simple moves and upbeat music make it easy for anyone to learn. In the beginner courses we will teach you the basic steps and techniques, as well as how to find the beat and dance with your partner smoothly and confidently. No experience and no partner required.
At beginner level, there are three short courses available, alll of which are for complete beginners. The courses cover the basic steps, and techniques, but each one covers different variations that you need to know before advancing. If you want to feel completely comfortable with the basics before moving to a more advanced level, we advise completing all 3 beginner courses.

Now that you have had a taste of salsa it is time to improve the flavour by adding in new steps and combinations. In the improver courses you will learn how to add variety to your dance, link moves together seamlessly and look good doing it!
At improver level, there are 3 courses. All of them are the same level of difficulty but cover different concepts. It doesn't matter which course you start with but we recommend that you complete all 3 courses before moving up to intermediate level and beyond.

Class dates for this course are July 10, 17, 24 and 31.
The Beginners Tango class focuses on the foundational elements of Argentine Tango, including the embrace, walking technique, musicality, lead an follow, basic figures and navigation. Students will learn how to connect with a dancing partner, understand and apply basic steps and musicality, and begin to develop the foundation for more complex movements.
