
This 4th of July, join us for a powerful practice that reclaims freedom from within. Yoga for Sovereignty invites us to reflect on the true meaning of liberty—beyond flags and fireworks—and into the heart of personal agency, breath, and presence.
Through intentional movement, grounding breathwork, and meditative reflection, we’ll explore what it means to be sovereign in body, mind, and spirit. We’ll honor the wisdom of ancient yogic traditions and the Great Law of Peace of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, whose teachings remind us that true freedom is rooted in harmony, justice, and respect for all life.
Together, we’ll breathe, move, and declare our inner independence—free from fear, limitation, and conditioning. Come as you are, and leave feeling empowered, clear, and connected.
All levels welcome. Bring your mat, an open heart, and a journal if you wish to reflect.

This class is designed for the first-time student, or those with some belly dance experience who are interested in returning to the dance. Habiba will guide you through technique essential to the dance. Glide across the floor with elegance as you frame your body with beautiful hand and arm movements; learn shimmies both soft and powerful; hypnotic movements of the hips such as figure eights, and undulations. Set to the exciting rhythms of North Africa and the Middle East, students will learn a fun choreography incorporating these techniques. Belly dancing is a great low-impact workout, suitable for all sizes and ages. Classes are uplifting and fun!
