Together we will explore human movement through mobilization
drills, including new patterns and play, with the intent of
becoming a better mover regardless of the situation. Come and feel
like a kid again (or still), while rediscovering natural mobility
lost through years of disuse, specialization in sport, etc.
It is requested that attendees be comfortable with squatting,
kneeling and plow pose. Long pants and clothing without zippers,
snaps, or anything that may scratch the hardwood floor is required.
Also, consistent attendance helps the instructor and the
student.
David's hope is to build a strong community of movers in our hometown; a community who is eager to explore, is passionate about becoming better human animals, and supporting each other in the process.
David Finley is a mixed-movement artist, who has studied and practiced various forms of movement throughout his life. His teaching focuses on proper technique, alignment, and logical progressions to building strength, flexibility and resilience.

Join student teachers Lizzie Lambrou and Mianna Morrison as they
embark on an exploration of the self, in a group setting where all
are both the teacher and the student. Diving deep into history and
current sociology and psychology, let us look at how perception and
perspective affect our thoughts, emotions, lives, bodies, and
actions. We will then explore some possible ways to see through the
veils and see perception and perspective as tools rather than
rules. Some simple movement and yoga poses will be introduced for
voluntary participation throughout the class, along with some
philosophical readings and questions. There will also be a few
minutes of personal time for processing, journaling, meditation,
running a marathon in record time, or anything else you find you
need or want. There is no requirement to bring anything, but you
are welcome to bring blankets, bolsters, yoga mats, journals,
writing utensils, and your comfiest sweater.
We look forward to seeing you!
Donation requested (bring to the event). 50% of donations will be donated to the Ohio Forrest Sanctuary
The first yogis created yoga asanas, or postures, by observing & imitating animals. This is why we practice “cobra pose,” “downward dog,” “cat and cow,” and so forth. Unleash your wild side and join Paisley for a primal movement practice co-facilitated by Brian Bowles, founder of Lost Step Kung Fu. Brian has been practicing martial arts for 35 years. His classes combine animal & primal movements into flows that use body weight to build strength, coordination, balance, and mobility. Paisley will lead a yoga-based warm up and cool down.

Reiki is an energy tranforming technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety through gentle touch. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support transformation. Restorative Yoga, as the name suggests, is a style of yoga that helps “restore” the body to its parasympathetic nervous system function. It helps the body rest and restore balance. By allowing time for longer asanas (postures or poses) and deeper breathing, restorative yoga helps elicit the relaxation response. These two practices combined makes for a peaceful and releasing experience.

T'ai Chi Ch'uan is literally translated as “supreme ultimate boxing”. The “supreme ultimate” part refers to the Chinese concept of the origin of the universe. Out of the infinite potential of the void arises the dual principles of yin and yang. Yang being the male, warm, forceful, light principle, and Yin being the female, cool, yielding, dark principle. Neither one of these principles is superior to the other, and both are necessary because each contains some of the other. They are two sides of the same coin. The yin-yang symbol is also a symbol of T'ai Chi. T'ai Chi Ch'uan is a harmonious dance of yin and yang sometimes referred to as “meditation in motion”.
T’ai Chi was originally practiced as a martial art emphasizing strength and speed. Through time it has evolved into a gentle form of exercise that can be practiced by people of all ages. It consists of a sequence of movements that are performed slowly, softly and gracefully with smooth, even transitions.
This is a six week series with classes meeting once per week: The cost is $65 per person

_______________
New Orleans' Seán Johnson & The Wild Lotus Band create a universal style of cross-cultural spiritual music filtered through the depth, sincerity, and soul of their own American and ancestral roots. Their music merges conscious lyrics, sacred chants from the spiritual traditions of yoga and beyond, and roots, rock, gospel, and global grooves. They are known for creating interactive, soul-stirring songs to dance and sing along with as well as to grieve and heal.
In 2005, Seán founded the band as a post-hurricane Katrina philanthropic music project, raising funds across the country for relief from the devastation of the storm. The theme of searching for grace and inspiration amidst challenge and destruction has permeated their music ever since. In 2007, they released their first album, ‘Calling The Spirits’ which caught the ears of pioneering Canadian record producer Terry McBride, founder of Nettwerk Records and Lilith Fair. McBride signed the band to Nettwerk for the release of their follow-up album, ‘Devaloka.’ When Putumayo World Music founder, Dan Storper heard ‘Devaloka,’ he chose music off the record to be featured on Putumayo’s first compilation of music designed for yoga. Inclusion on three Putumayo albums has helped propel the band’s music to listeners across the globe. Their last album ‘Unity’ debuted #1 on the iTunes World Music Chart and #3 on Billboard. Their new album Mystery was just released on Be Still Records, and was named one of the best 50 albums released by Lousisiana musicians this year by Offbeat Magazine. They are a favorite headliner at conscious music festivals across the U.S. and have played The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on multiple occasions.
The band features vocalist/lyricist/harmonium player Seán Johnson; Alvin Young on six string fretless bass and electric guitar; and percussionist/vocalist Gwendolyn Colman; Narada Wise on drums.
