The course will take 2 to 3 years, going at your own pace, and some of the choices of direction and topic will be your own, so that you can follow your interests.
Also, please note, that this is an academic course, a spiritual pilgrimage and a philosophical adventure more than it is about asana. We look at different points of view and new ways of looking at the world and ourselves, maybe even more often than we look at alignment in a pose. Of course, we are interested in all aspects of yoga, but the philosophy and the spirituality are emphasized more than the asanas. Taking this course, you will make great progress on anatomy, you will learn more about the history and heritage of yoga, and about yoga nidra, mudras, the koshas and the therapeutic applications of yoga.
The meditation course is included. The hands-on assisting class on Feb. 4 is included (below). Attendance at any of the regular yoga classes at The Yoga Place and Yoga Central are included for two years- that’s a $1400 value alone. Required books are also included. We want this to be affordable for you.
Note: this is also known as a 500-hour course. The “500 hour" comes from adding on your previous 200-hour training to the 300-hour training.
