Iyengar Yoga; From the Periphery to the Core. (A 3-class series with Karen Allgire)

A fundamental principle of Iyengar Yoga is the progressive movement from the gross to the subtle, from the outer to the inner, from the known to the unknown, and from the periphery to the core,
In this series of workshops, we will experience poses from many categories – standing poses, backbends, inversions, twists and forward extensions – while taking the journey inward.

You may wish to experience the classes as a progressive series, yet each class will be complete within itself, so taking the whole series is not required.

Working with the Structure - August 22
We start our journey with standing poses and back arches to explore the poses from a skeletomuscular point of view.

Moving from the Organic Body – September 19
This class will focus on twists and forward extensions, using the breath to access the inner physiological body.

Freedom and Space – October 17
To experience sensitivity, awareness, and serenity, we will explore inversions, a variety of supported postures, and pranayama, the art of yogic breathing.
