Ayur means “life” in Sanskrit, and Veda means “science,” so Ayurveda is Yoga's sister “science of life.” Like Yoga, Ayurveda provides a framework for tending to the physical, energetic, and spiritual bodies, and for living a healthy lifestyle which honors the cycles of nature and life. In other words, Ayurveda is an ancient system of holistic health care that focuses on improving digestion, correcting imbalances to live a life of ease (rather than dis-ease), and can compliment Western medicine beautifully.
Join this beginners' workshop to learn about the three doshas, or Ayurvedic mind-body types, discover your unique doshic constitution, and understand some practical applications for how these doshas express themselves through life and the body. Then, we will discuss 5 Ayurvedic practices that are generally recommended for everyone in order to kindle the digestive fire and reduce toxic residue within the body. You will recieve several handouts to integrate this information.
