Come and have some fun beating on your drum, dance if you get the chance, chant if your spirit moves you. Join us for a drum circle at Yoga Central the second Friday of the month (6:45-8pm), running February—April (and maybe in May depending on demand). These are donation-based sessions. Please bring your own drum or percussion instrument. Be creative: a plastic egg partially filled with raw lentils, rice, or beans makes a great homemade percussion instrument!
Drum circles have a rich history in all cultures of providing a meditative way to relax at the end of the day. Join us for a fun community-building drum circle.
It is helpful if you pre-register for free, and have an account with your e-mail address and phone number, then we can contact you with important details, or any changes.
Led by Sally and Heather.
Free, or make a donation at the event!
Silent Meditation led by a practiced trainer in the method of Heartfulness Meditation. We usually sit for 30 to 45 mintues and there may be questions or discusssion for the last part of the hour. Cushions, blankets or chairs are provided. There is also a yoga class from 8 am to 8:50 am, preceeding the meditation. If you would like, you can do both back-to-back. The meditation and the yoga class are both by donation. All are welcome.
Together we will explore human movement through mobilization
drills, including new patterns and play, with the intent of
becoming a better mover regardless of the situation. Come and feel
like a kid again (or still), while rediscovering natural mobility
lost through years of disuse, specialization in sport, etc.
It is requested that attendees be comfortable with squatting,
kneeling and plow pose. Long pants and clothing without zippers,
snaps, or anything that may scratch the hardwood floor is required.
Also, consistent attendance helps the instructor and the
student.
David's hope is to build a strong community of movers in our hometown; a community who is eager to explore, is passionate about becoming better human animals, and supporting each other in the process.
David Finley is a mixed-movement artist, who has studied and practiced various forms of movement throughout his life. His teaching focuses on proper technique, alignment, and logical progressions to building strength, flexibility and resilience.

Using a combination of research-based approaches and gentle yoga, we will explore the ways Yoga, stretching, movement, and breathing techniques can support the lymphatic system and general wellness. This first session has been designed with breast cancer survivors in mind, but is suitable for anyone interested in lymphatic flow. We will also touch on the use of affirmations, guided visualization, mindfulness, restorative yoga, and other related topics to enhance your learning experience. Facilitated by Cindy Winick, a breast cancer survivor and a physcial trauma survivor who uses these techniques to manage lymphedma.
