ACU-YIN YOGA combines the ancient wisdom of yoga (yin) and acupuncture (pins) or acupressure (using similar key points without pins if you prefer) providing a deeply restful and healing experience.
Indulge in a floor based practice suitable for all abilities where you are guided into postures that are held for 3 to 5 minutes. The longer holds allow your muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia to gently lengthen and slowly release. It is not completely passive, it is a journey within to find just the right amount of ease (Yin) and just the right amount of effort (Yang). Props are used throughout the class for extra support.
The acupuncture points are selected to align with the theme of the class and the small accupuncture pins are inserted to these points in your final resting pose (pins are optional) Combining these two powerhouse healing practices can support a more profound level of relaxation, balance and well-being.
About your facilitator:
Laura is the founder of Nautilus Acupuncture. As an Acupuncturist, Emergency Nurse and Yoga teacher she blends her deep passion for Eastern medical practices with her knowledge and experience of Western Medicine.
She was naturally drawn to Yin Yoga after moving to the Sunshine Coast 6years ago and has completed 150 additional hours of Yin training. The practice and philosophy of Yoga is deeply intertwined into her clinical work, community education and life as a busy mum.
If you are seeking or are passionate about helping others find relief from stress, anxiety, depression, sleep better, improve concentration, focus and relaxation. If you are wanting to build your own Mindful Toolkit or help others do the same to give them practices that have a huge evidence base world wide (Mindfulness is rated as one of the number one treatments for depression and anxiety and has helped many people find relief from many different forms of suffering)
This program weather you take this for yourself or to become certified to teach practices or this full program to support others going through life events they may need support with – It will be something that you will use and call on again and again throughout all chapters of life.
It is also a great opportunity to spend some time in nature enjoying “taking in the good” filling your cup, getting clear and giving yourself some space to process.

Tammy continues to provide consultancy , mentoring , and therapeutic programs that are Mindfulness Based to people from all over the world (even more so now thanks to the use of Live Online Mentoring & Coaching) She supports those going through crisis or who maybe at cross roads to find relief or to take more skilful action that supports their overall quality of life, along with Training Teachers who wish to Teach or share Mindfulness.
