I came to Heartwood Institute for the first time this past weekend for a mini immersion in Yoga Philosophy. It is an amazing place created with much love and care by teachers that are truly invested in providing the very best education to students continuing on the yogic path. Thank you Ginny, David and Denver, looking forward to seeing you all again for further studies.
This eclectic group of teachers has informed Pauline's personal
approach to classic Hatha yoga, which is an underlying belief that
yoga poses and breathing should be adapted to fit individual
Rather than asking the student to conform to an ideal postural form, she tailors poses that are right for the student's body type, muscle strength and conditioning.Pauline has taught students of all ages, from junior high school to adults in their 80s.Early in her teaching career, she taught at a community college as an alternative to Phys Ed, at the YWCA, churches, continuing education and at a psychiatric ward. For the last 25 years, her interest has been primarily working with students over 50 with an emphasis on improving balance, range of motion, flexibility, increased lung capacity and relaxation of mind and body. In New York State, she has taught in senior and recreation centers, at a Chiropractic College and Chiropractic Clinic, and at the Empire State Senior Games.
Since moving to Sarasota, Florida, Pauline has developed a following of mostly older clients seeking to find new freedom through gentle movement, relaxation and clarity of mind.
