We love Songbirds. Very sweet staff. My son takes drums with Thai. He is very nice and such a great instructor!
I am a second-generation artist that attended precollege courses at Carnegie Mellon University and received my Bachelors of Fine Arts with a focus in Ceramics from Temple University, Tyler School of Art. I was trained in realistic drawing techniques, printmaking, and ceramics. I have been teaching and creating for over 20 years. I love introducing others to clay and creating of any kind, and am passionate about the crucial link between individual expression and mental and physical health. I teach the basic hand building techniques in clay with projects that incorporate these techniques, while giving the student’s creativity the space to shine. Creating is a fun and therapeutic act and I hope to bring joy, relaxation and creativity to my students' experience in my classroom.
When I am not teaching I am running my own business, Sarah Johnston Ceramics. I make ceramic address number tiles and images tiles for homes and businesses. I also create functional ware and home décor that incorporates my tile images. I am at the Oviedo Farmers Market the first Saturday of every month. My website is sarahjohnstonceramics.com and you can follow me on Facebook and Instagram @sarahjohnstonceramics, I also have an Etsy shop SarahJohnstonCeramic.
