Val joined the Veterans Yoga Project team in 2021 and is the VYP
State Director for Colorado. She has
been teaching yoga since 2016 and currently holds an RYT200 certification through Yoga Alliance with a
focus on Vinyasa, a Mindful Resilience Training certification though Veterans Yoga Project, has
completed additional trainings in yin, restorative and adaptive yoga, and is a certified instructor with the
National Arthritis Foundation. She’s a 20-year Navy veteran and has an MBA in Human Resource
Management and an MS in Systems Integration. Val moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado in 2017, and
is enjoying everything the area has to offer. In addition to teaching a variety of classes, Val has an active
outdoor life that includes skiing, hiking, and camping with her husband and Labrador retriever.
