Mary Jones lives in San Diego CA. She holds nationally recognized certifications in Group Fitness through ACE, RYT200 Yoga Instructor through Yoga Alliance, and most recently became certified in Mindful Resilience Training through Veterans Yoga Project.
Experience drawn from a personal practice of over 23 years gives Mary an approachable teaching style that puts students at ease and gives them the tools they need to invite this powerful tradition into their lives---on the mat and off!
A consistent yoga practice has the power to cultivate great change. Mary’s mission is to empower her students to use the tools of yoga to better their lives and the lives of those around them.
Using breath to foster presence is a huge part of yoga. Since our breath is always with us, it is a valuable tool. Learning to use breath and mindfulness has been shown to alleviate symptoms of PTSD and addictive behaviors.
With time on the mat, we increase the skills of self-love and gratitude, empathy follows. When we are able to value our own unique expression, we respect it in others. Ultimately the changes of the individual become a catalyst for changes in community.
In our practice we are the sculptor and the sculpture; we are the architects of our own lives. Refining this skill is at the heart of Mary’s motivation as an instructor.
Try Yoga with Mary; her warm style and sense of humor make class fun—with an underlying current of self-acceptance which is crucial for sustained practice!
