I have been participating in the Karma Yoga Spirit Matters book club for a couple of years. I only regret when I miss it! Susann and Shelley select such wonderful books to read and provide so much insight. They lead wonderful discussions that are always lively because of the wonderful people who show up, and the openness with which each person shares their thoughts, reactions and insights. For example, this month we read the Tao Te Ching. The discussion was so lively. While many read a common interpretation, several of us also read other interpretations. You can only imagine how lively and valuable the discussion was in compare and contrast. Like I said at the outset: never miss a month. Or if you do? Just read the book!
I took as many classes as I could and started serving at Yoga West & GRD Ashram. When the first Golden Bridge opened I knew I needed to be there, I began doing Seva as a volunteer and soon was managing the whole studio. This was an amazing time, I took my Teacher Training, began my study of Sat Nam Rasayan, went on my first journey to India, did my first cleanse, taught hundreds of classes to thousands of people, took my pre/post natal training, and was part of so many personal life events. To sum it up I learned the foundation for everything that serves me in my life today and I have been studying, practicing, and teaching Yoga ever since.
It was another incredible time and I was called to New Mexico to live and work in community at the Ashram.
I worked for 3HO in many capacities including Program Manager at the International Summer & Winter Solstice Sadhanas, Women's Camp, Khalsa Youth Camp, and as Assistant Director at the Masters Touch Intensive Teacher Trainings. I was also blessed to work at the Religious non-profit, Sikh Dharma International. I served as the Director of Historical Yatras to India and also developing our service to individuals & communities through the knowledge of this path and the tools to support it.
Then, incredibly I had the blessing of Living, teaching and serving in India, which was an amazing journey and a dream come true. My home was in Amritsar and then Anandpur Sahib where I had the gift and opportunity to live in community and be immersed in the history, spiritual places, and study with Masters of Ayurveda, Yoga, Meditation, Reiki, Gurbani Kirtan, and traditional Indian dance. Places I had dreamed of going were now my daily life and routine! I traveled extensively during my 9 years there, going to as many places as I could. Now it is a passion of mine to share my knowledge and experience with others as I guide them on Yatras, their own spiritual journeys.
During that time, I was the Director of Dashmesh Sadan, a picturesque Retreat and Training Center in Anandpur Sahib, India, where I was again able to use all of my skills and passions to serve hundreds of students, seekers, and teachers on their journey. It was a very special time in my life and I cherish all of the relationships and chosen family that I still have from this blessed time.
I now live in my original home, San Diego, CA where I continue to serve, teach and nurture all souls that I meet. I look forward to meeting you, seeing you in class or at a workshop, guiding you through a cleanse or a yatra to India, or where ever it may be.
I’ve dedicated my life to these tools of transformation, knowing that my path is to support and serve all I meet with the technology of Yoga & Meditation and the tools of the Art & Science of Ayurveda.
