Shannon attended her 1st yoga class in 2012 at Yoga Body Shop and it quickly became a way of life for her. Originally, Shannon started yoga as a way to stretch out her muscles to help prevent injury. She quickly realized that yoga became much more than just the physical practice. After the unexpected loss of her Aunt followed a few weeks later by the unexpected loss of her father, she started to notice the tools she learned on her mat helped her to get through any obstacles life threw at her. Sometimes life just sucks, it is important to have a safe and welcoming community to turn to for support during those times. Yoga Body Shop has that. Shannon decided to become a yoga instructor to help other people transform their lives, through the practice of yoga, as it has done for her. When practice gets tough, you stay and work through it. When life gets tough you stay and work through it. Yoga presences you to what is happening at that moment. Learning to be present, in the now, allows you to enjoy life fully with allll of the ups and downs. Shannon finished her 200 hour yoga teacher training through Yoga Body Institute in Feb 2015 and attended the Art of Assisting program through Baptiste in April of 2015. She plans on attending Level 1 through Baptiste in 2016. Shannon can be found saying “Down DOG” at Yoga Body Shop or at home when she is talking to her rambunctious and loving dog, Bowser. Paw prints on your mats are always welcomed!
