Kim began practicing yoga in 2000 to complement a regimen of running. After tearing her Achilles’ tendon she turned to yoga as a healing modality. In 2014 she completed her 200 hour teacher training with Ariel Kiley and Yuuki Hirano at Dou Yoga in Brooklyn. Her interest has always been the therapeutic nature of yoga and its ability to heal through achieving a deep level of relaxation and a deeper experience of the poses and the breath. After completing a Restorative Yoga training with Mona Anand and Gina Menza at Ishta Yoga in 2015 her teaching focused on restorative. She has completed a 50 hour therapeutic training with Colleen Saidman and Rodney Yee at Yoga Shanti and an Advanced Restorative training with Mona Anand and Gina Menza. Additionally, Kim has completed a first degree Reiki training and can offer the energy healing practice in her restorative classes.
