Who is this workshop for?

Anyone who wants to learn how to breathe better and harness the power that breath has in our bodies. Be it you want to breathe better in your yoga practice, or deepen meditation or maybe you are just feeling stuck.

In our 4 week journey into our most primal function we will learn how to alleviate stress, tension in the body, relieve anxiety, tap into our energy source and improve our overall sleep and relaxation patterns.

We will touch briefly on spiritual and psychological benefits as well.

Physical enhancements noticed immediately in the body are a stretching of the lungs, allowing a new intake and distribution of oxygen, stretching the intercostal muscles, the diaphragm being exercised and the ability to control your entire nervous system by where you place the breath.

So get the comfortable clothes on, find a place on your mat and let’s dive deep into our humanity through breath.

Session 1: Breathing for relaxation including belly breathing, Chandra-ved And Bhramari (humming)

Session 2: Breathing for general health and balance including alternate chest belly breathing, Kapalabhati and up and down waving of the breath.

Session 3: Breathing for physical performance including Bhramari breathing, Kapalabhati with retention and a metronome Surya-ved/Chandra-ved (alteranate nostril breathing)

Session 4: Practice for yoga progress Including Kapalabhati, Chandra-ved (inhale left nostril, exhale right), uneven count breathing.

More focus will be given to training and strengthening specific areas of the body and/or poses. This class will focus on body awareness and fine tune alignment in poses. Some experience with 26/2 and a desire to learn and expand your practice is required.
