I was introduced to hot yoga by my sister 8 years ago. I was hooked after the first class. I had always incorporated yoga into my fitness routine practicing in many church basements and in the hospital where I worked. The experience of the heat and the intensity it created really helped me to calm the chatter in my mind and just be in the moment during my practice. It was amazing to be in one spot on your mat working your physical limits, while at the same time entering into a meditative state through breath and healing injuries sustained from many years of physical activity. After a few years of practice I decided to take my Level 1 certification and then subsequently my Level 2 with Kim McMullen. That experience, combined with my years working as an occupational therapist flowed right into my teaching at my second home, Calgary Hot Yoga. I enjoy every second that I spend there teaching or taking a class. There is always something new to learn and explore..even in sequenced yoga! I look forward to seeing you in my class.
