I haven’t practiced yoga in about 7 years. I purchased a week package this past week and absolutely loved it!! I had so much fun, my energy lasted the entire day it changed my attitude with work and home!!! Catherine Cook-Cottone, Ph.D., is a Licensed Psychologist, Registered Yoga Teacher, Full Professor at SUNY at Buffalo, and Associate Editor of Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention. She is also the founder of Yogis in Service a not-for-profit organization that creates access to yoga and trauma-informed yoga teaching practices. Her research specializes in embodied self- regulation (i.e., yoga, mindfulness, and self-care) and psychosocial disorders (e.g., eating disorders, trauma). In consulting work and in presentations, Catherine uses her model of embodied self-regulation to structure discussions on research and practical applications. She teaches courses on mindful therapy, yoga, self-care and service, and counseling with children and adolescents. She also maintains a private practice specializing in the treatment of: anxiety-based disorders, trauma, eating disorders, and development of self-regulation skills.
