Lori moved from Maryland to South Carolina for college in 1997
and has remained in the Carolina's ever since! She graduated from
The University of South Carolina in 2001 with a BS in Marketing
& Human Resources. She worked for Marriott in Sales &
Marketing for 7 years before becoming a stay at home mom. She has
been married to her best friend (Gentry) for 14 years and they have
2 children (Connor, age 10 & Alexa, age 8). They moved to Tega
Cay from York, SC in 2012.
Although Lori is not a licensed therapist, her last decade as
a mother often made her feel like one! Especially during her
children’s early years Lori found herself consumed by trying to
help them as they navigated the ups & downs of basic physical,
social & emotional life skills. The challenges her children
faced led her to try countless learning activities & behavioral
methods in search of the best way for them to overcome their
adversities. With a lot of effort her children have learned how to
build on their strengths while managing & minimizing their
weaknesses. They have been forced out of their comfort zones, faced
their anxieties, grown socially and academically & have found
ways to flourish despite imperfections. Lori & her husband are
fortunate to be very involved not only with their own kids but also
with many other children in the community through their various
volunteering activities through their children’s school, soccer
team & Girl Scouts troop.
Lori began practicing Yoga in 2017 & immediately fell in
love! She began using some of the techniques with her own children
& was impressed by their interest and acceptance to it. This
led her to begin more research into children’s mindfulness &
During 2018 she completed two Mindful Schools trainings:
Mindful Fundamentals & Mindful Educator Essentials. She also
began her 95 hour Children’s Yoga Certification through ChildLight
Yoga. In September 2018 she completed the CLY Yoga &
Mindfulness for Children’s training. In 2020 Lori completed her 200
Hour RYT with Enlighten Yoga.
Lori is passionate about helping children reach their full
potential while also wanting them to simply enjoy their childhood.
She is excited & honored to be able to spread mindfulness &
yoga to our community through Movement, Mindfulness & Me. Her
goal is for all children to see the beauty that lies inside &
outside of each of them.
