I was not sure what to expect from this class except that Anna was going to teach me something new. She is such a good teacher and has a great delivery. We were doing breathing exercises laying down so all of the cueing was verbal. Anna's voice guided us gently though the class, and she encouraged us to me mindful and kind to ourselves. This was one of the most nourishing and enjoyable hours I've spent since Covid. This really was the next best thing to being with her in person.
If you have any interest in the healthful benefits of mindful breathing, I really recommend this class.

Jess

Jess is originally from Rocky Mount, NC. IN her previous life, before making the decision to take on the mantle and responsibilities of owning our wonderful studio, Jess was an x-ray tech, massage therapist, and ventriloquist. A Scorpio, she enjoys anything involving yoga, both teaching and learning! She also enjoys playing old video games, reading, crocheting, gardening, talking to strangers, and may or may not enjoy binge-watching The Office and Friends randomly. Jess shares the love of 2 dogs, Miss Navi and Mr Muddy, FrankDog the pig, and Mila the cat with her husband Jack.

After wanting to try yoga for a while, Jess began her yoga journey in 2013 right here at Purple Blossom (prior to ownership). After her first class she thought “wow this is cool”, and after her second class she thought “what just happened, how can I experience more of this” and began practicing with Serena and Suzanne, and completely changing her life. IN November of the same year, Jess dove in head first and signed up for Longwave Yoga’s Yogic Studies and Teacher Training program (though not recommended - diving into teacher training without having even met her future teachers - she feels it was one of the best decisions of her life.) Learning that there was so much more to yoga than postures and good feelings was life altering. Jess studied extensively under the guidance of Mary Glackmeyer and Lexi Hawks learning more about vinyasa flow, the Iyengar method, restorative yoga, yoga sequencing, and yoga therapeutics. She has also studied yoga therapeutics with Kelly Haas, yoga anatomy with Noah Maze, and alignment principles and meditation with Annie Carpenter.

Jess is also a Registered Radiologic Technologist (2009), Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist (2016), Certified Kinesiotape Practitioner (2016), and holds certification in Anti Gravity Fundamentals (2018).
