I was not sure what to expect from this class except that Anna was going to teach me something new. She is such a good teacher and has a great delivery. We were doing breathing exercises laying down so all of the cueing was verbal. Anna's voice guided us gently though the class, and she encouraged us to me mindful and kind to ourselves. This was one of the most nourishing and enjoyable hours I've spent since Covid. This really was the next best thing to being with her in person.
If you have any interest in the healthful benefits of mindful breathing, I really recommend this class.

Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn is an Aries who originally hails from Dallas, Texas. She found her way to North Carolina in 2011 for undergrad study at UNC Chapel Hill where she fell in love with NC and has lived here ever since.  Kaitlyn is a 3rd year medical student at the Brody School of Medicine. She plans to practice Family Medicine and someday open her own clinic. She is passionate about lifestyle medicine, and her dream is to empower others to lead healthier, happier lives.

Kaitlyn grew up competing in gymnastics for 21 years, so naturally she loves playing with her inversion practice and exploring new variations and movements. She feels happiest when outdoors - soaking up sunshine and enjoying quiet moments in nature. Kaitlyn loves taking trips to the beach, dancing around her bedroom at night, and recently started learning guitar (which has been both a fun and humbling journey). She has a very fluffy, incredibly sassy calico cat named Maddie whose favorite pastimes are playing with ribbons and eating all house plants.

She started practicing yoga in 2016 - mostly for my mental health and wellbeing. When Kaitlyn started medical school in 2018, the practice became even more important as she began to navigate an incredibly challenging chapter of her life. Kaitlyn completed her 200hr YTT through Samasti Yoga in Bali in July 2019. What began as a dream to become a yoga teacher quickly transformed into the most profound spiritual journey of her life. She is so grateful she took the leap of faith to become a yoga teacher as it turned out to be the best decision she ever made. Most recently Kaitlyn completed a workshop called Bridging the Practice of Yoga and Modern Medicine with Jessica Johnson, M.D., RYT.

Kaitlyn feels that through all the ups and downs, yoga has been the anchor that grounds her - leading her back to herself again and again. She is so genuinely grateful for her practice and hopes to share it with others through teaching.
