One summer in grad school, I decided to try a hot power vinyasa class in the style of Baron Baptiste. From there, I was hooked. My passion for yoga was sparked by the ability to lose myself in the practice and to fall into the present. The intense yoga practice with which I had fallen in love gave me a reason to start taking care of myself by getting more sleep, drinking more water, and eating healthier. As yoga started changing my life, I started noticing the words my teachers were telling me on my mat were starting to creep into other aspects of my life. In 2014, I finished my 200-hour teacher training at Tribal Yoga, an affiliate of Rolf Gates Vinyasa Teacher Training. The philosophy and power of yoga have helped to pull me through periods of stress and anxiety and I successfully finished my PhD shortly after my teacher training.

An eternal student, I am constantly studying different aspects and types of yoga to deepen my understanding of the practice. It is my hope to apply what I learn to help my students as best as I possibly can. I have taken mentorships with Meaghan de Roos at Breathe Yoga Center and in Yoga Anatomy with Dr. Ariele Foster, DPT. My interests have led me to weekend workshops with Jason Crandell, Rolf Gates, Carson Calhoun, and Jonathan Miles (Maha Vira Yoga). I try to incorporate all facets of wellness ranging from myofascial release to essential oils to just paying attention to your own body! My classes are meant to be instructive but are always open to a little lighthearted fun.
