After playing soccer for nearly 18 years, I needed something
to keep me active upon graduating college. Inspired by some
calisthenics athletes I stumbled upon online, I began my own
calisthenics-style workout routine which was eventually a segue
into an occasional yoga practice. Yoga helped keep my body loose
while building strength from this newfound passion of calisthenics.
My practice began with an online video I would use a couple times a
week, but when I noticed mental changes occurring, I needed more.
I decided to join Tribal Yoga for further guidance and began
practicing every chance I had. My lower back pain became
non-existent, my proprioception was improving, and as cliché as it
might sound, staying present and “living in the moment” was
becoming easier (just to name a few of the endless benefits). After
seeing all the changes happening, I then decided to further my
practice and deepen my understanding by taking the 200 RYT training
Yoga has been a holistic approach to my health that addresses
both body and mind. It is my goal to share these benefits by
creating a class that will be challenging enough to keep the
students’ focus in the present, while leaving them with a feeling
of tranquility at the end of each practice.
