Zoe Minnick is an undergraduate student at James Madison
University, pursuing a degree in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies
and Elementary Education. She has been working in Harrisonburg City
and Rockingham County public schools since 2016 as an America Reads
tutor and as a practicum student teacher. She has received her
200-hour yoga teacher certification through School Yoga Institute,
at the Mystical Yoga Farm in Guatemala. Here, Zoe was trained under
Anita Sundaram in the traditions of Hatha, Vinyasa, and Iyengar
yoga, as well as a brief study of permaculture. She has further
received a 20-hour certification in Trauma-Informed Yoga
Instruction under Whitney Ingram and Kath Meadows. She has been
practicing for 4 years and will begin formally teaching yoga in the
Fall of 2018. Her primary areas of interest include integrating
trauma informed care and contemplative practices into the general
education classroom to promote mindfulness, meaningful learning,
and well-being in students.
