Rebecca stumbled into her first yoga class around 2009. Though initially awkward to let her body meet the asana before even knowing what that was, within a few classes she knew she’d found a practice with great healing potential. After a decade on the mat, Rebecca successfully
completed a 200-hour yoga teacher-training program with Suzanne McCahill Perrine at The Center in 2019.
In her own practice, Rebecca lives yoga to connect mind with body and her spirit to God and those around her. “In our intense culture with personal relationships, work, external
expectations, and the ever-increasing demands on our thoughts and our time through technology, it is the putting down of external things that lets us move inward and flow outward
and meet our lives with strength and suppleness,” shares Rebecca. “I always assumed that the path to wholeness meant more thinking – more doing – but it’s actually the stillness of the
mind-body-spirit connection that increases our resiliency to meet life head-on with agency, grace, and gratitude.”

A native Texan who’s logged time on Capitol Hill and the political worlds of Texas and Georgia politics, Rebecca is a proud Valley transplant, the happy wife of George, and a mom to three
on-the-go adult children. She is a graduate of JMU and loves friendship, biking, travel, culture, and ideas.
